Beautiful gown... The skirt, depending on height of wearer will be just above the ankle or at the toes. a bit wrinkly as expected packed in a bag. The size purchased is 14 purple and it matches the color on screen. The arm holes are snug fitting, not sure if that's how these gotten are supposed to be like that. However there is still plenty of arm/shoulder movement. Sounds of rustling skirts is fun. It's not too mature or childish looking. It's only sheer where the lace is plus The dark color helps with chest coverage if concerned about the sheerness still. The long skirts will also keep legs warn as cooler temps arrive.4'9" developing chest area will be a snug fit even in size 14. Although Love how the ribbon helps adjust the waist area for both the slim and plus size girls.Overall this is a great gown for any occasion and recommend for small top frame any height.****11/2017 UPDATE****With shapewear this dress was able to fit this petite adult frame. Was able to trim a couple inches down with the ribbon smoothing it more. The chest area fit better as well. The skirt was quite full and a bit longer so I had to hold it up to not trip over it, but maybe that's how gowns are supposed to be.Very happy with this purchase and received many compliments on color and how it fit.Loved it she was beautifulThis dress looked beautiful on my daughter, and was well worth the price. Based on previous reviews noting that the dress runs large, I ordered a size 8 for my petite 13 year old. The length turned out to be mid-calf on her rather than maxi, but that worked well for us, and the overall fit was perfect for her slim build. There is enough room that she could probably wear it again over the next year since the cut will still work as the dress gets shorter, but it didn't look too large for her now.The dress came folded flat in a cellophane package within a padded envelope, so I spent quite a bit of time steaming creases and wrinkles out of the skirt and sash, but it looked just like the pictures once the wrinkles were out. I also had a bit of trouble with the zipper, which I had to work at for about 20 minutes before I could get it to go down more than about a quarter of an inch. I had decided to give up and return the dress, thinking there was a stitch across the zipper, but tried one last time and was able to get it. Once I got it working, though, we had no more problems with the zipper.I purchased this for my 10 year old daughter. I don't ever purchase clothing onine, however due to the free returns option I decided to take a chance.My daughter normally wears a size 12, however due to the reviews I went one size down and purchased a size 10. It fits great! Also, my daughter is shorter so I figured this would be way too long. However, it sits perfectly at her ankles!I don't know why some of the reviews state it is cheap... The dress is $18... I didn't expect to get the kind of quality you'd get when purchasing a $100 dress, however I didn't look at the dress and think cheap. The fabric is good quality, and it's made well. We did take into consideration the reviews that stated some are see-through. She is a petite 12 yr old and usually wears size 10/12 in most stores. She is 4"7 and the dress was just above ankle but fit her perfectly otherwise. For the price..I was very impressed. Same quality as a more expensive store option.Truly worthy of 4.5 stars but could only choose 4 stars. The bottom is translucent.....If your daughter doesn’t wear an additional black slip the undergarments would be seen through.The dress is beautiful though. Great for taller girls due to length. Fit true to size and true to length for my tall 10 yr old at 5’2 and 115lbs.My daughter wears a size 6X but seeing that all the review said it was way too large I ordered her a size 4 and it was still a little bit too big. Luckily it's still work because I altered the dress quite a bit to make her Halloween costume. I put a hoop skirt underneath it which lifted the bottom quite a lot, then I took in the tops of the shoulders and added to all around the waist below the satin. I then made matching gloves and a blue feather fan to complete her costume as Judy Haynes from the movie White Christmas in the song Sisters.I am always a bit skeptical buying cloths online, especially on amazon for some reason (no offense amazon), but HOLY SMOKES this dress sort of blew me away! I needed it for a production of the Little Mermaid Jr. for our Ariel expecting I'd need to do some serious alterations and that the fabric would be sub-par...boy was I pleasantly surprised! This dress was great! The material was a little meh, but way better than I expected! The lace top held up great...I really can't say enough good things about this dress! We were even able to put a huge petticoat under it for one scene to turn it into a "ball gown" of sorts. I'm so pleased! Thank you thank you!
